Listed here are my 100 greatest movies. Originally this list started out as just a bit of fun during a conversation between my brother-in-law Paul and myself, but it got me seriously thinking about all the movies I had seen up to that point. For years, ever since a young boy, I was mad on films and fascinated by the making of them, but could I say what my top favorites were and in a decisive order?

As I compiled this list I had three main mandates;
Firstly movies I watched most regularly.
Secondly those movies I couldn’t live without.
Thirdly (and of course most important for this web page) those movies that influenced my desire to create and write stories.

As a sci-fi fan, yes there are a fair few sci-fi films but, perhaps surprisingly you may think, you will also find westerns, comedies and dramas. If broken down decade by decade probably the biggest influence of movies comes from the 1950’s: the height of film noir and classic science fiction films.

At the end of it all a “100 greatest movies” list can be just a bit of fun but for the serious minded of you out there perhaps it could be used as a experimental psychological tool to view a person’s mind and thoughts through a moving art form which after all stimulates the senses visually, vocally and emotionally, who knows?

Coming in the future “THE SECOND DIVISION” not quite “the 100 greatest movies”, a list of always watch able and enjoyable films, which are just pure entertainment and mindless fun.
